Arrival by train

Whether with the ICE, IC or a regional train – Nuremberg is a rail hub in the national rail network. German Rail’s travel information shows you all possible arrival and departure times. The modern main railway station is located just outside the Old Town and is only 15 minutes walk from the Christmas Market.

Arrival by airplane

Many international guests arrive at the Christkindlesmarkt via the Albrecht-Dürer airport. Using the subway system, the airport is only 12 minutes away from the city center. Albrecht-Dürer Airport Nuremberg offers up to 60 nonstop-connections to European destinations. The subway station of the U2 line and taxi stands are located directly in front of the terminals.

Arrival by bus

National and international bus lines arrive at the central bus station (ZOB), which is located in the Adcom Center, at the corner of the Bahnhofstraße and Käte-Strobel-Straße, just steps away from the main railway station. From here, the Christmas Market is only a 15-minute walk. Many travel agencies offer bus trips to the Christkindlesmarkt. The Nuremberg Congress and Tourist Office has provided special services for bus companies for years (more information for bus companies here).

Arrival by car

From whatever direction you’re traveling, Nuremberg is easy to reach! You can drive to the city using highways A3, A6, A9 and A 73. The Christmas Market takes place in the center of town, on the main market square of Nuremberg. Good signage and a traffic management system make it easy to find your way in the city.

The municipal parking garage information system is available online to guide you to an open parking space. Or you can leave your car at one of many Park+Ride garages and travel quickly and comfortably with public transportation to the heart of the Old Town.
