Former Christmas Angels
 
In 1948, actress Sofie Keeser as Nuremberg Christmas Angel opened the first Christmas Market after World War II. Until 1960, she took on this role every year.
Between 1961 and 1968, her successor was Irene Brunner, also an actress at Nuremberg Theatre.
In 1969, for the first time, a girl from Nuremberg's population was chosen for a term of office of two years.
The 20th elected Nuremberg Christmas Angel was Rebekka Volland, who performed this voluntary office in 2007 and 2008.
In December 1999, in the run-up to the 950th anniversary of the City of Nuremberg in 2000, there was a reunion of all former Christmas Angels on their market.
