Mulled Wine: A Cup of Good Cheer!

CTZ Nürnberg

Each year a new designed mug

The warmed wine has been served in environmentally-friendly reusable ceramic mugs since 1989. A new design each year makes the mugs a sought-after collector’s item: 80 percent are taken home as a souvenir of the Christkindlesmarkt.

Make your own mulled wine!

You don't want to miss mulled wine at home? Then we have the right receipe for you!

Ingredients
1 Litre of dry red wine, 1 citrus, 2 sticks of cinnamon, 3 cloves, 3 tablespoons of sugar, cardamom

Preparation
Put the red wine in a pot, cut the citrus in slices and mix it all together with the sugar, the cinnamon and the cloves in the pot. Heat the mixture close to the boiling point and then let it brew for 1 hour with the cover on the pot.

Hint
The mulled wine should not boil, but only be heated! Otherwise the alcohol evaporates and the spices might taste bitter!

Take out the cinnamon, citrus and cloves. Improve the mulled wine with cardamom and put it into warmed glasses. Decorate the glass with a sliced citrus or a cinnanom stick. If you like, you can sweeten the wine with sugar or honey.
