When counting the days to Christmas, a visit to the "Christmas City" of Nuremberg is an unforgettable experience for little ones. Since 1999, the Children's Christmas Market on Hans-Sachs-Platz, with its special programs geared for children, has appealed to the whole family. Here, right next to the Christkindlesmarkt, you can find a nostalgic two-tiered merry-go-round, a mini Ferris wheel and a steam railway.

It’s a special kind of magic that greets visitors at the Nuremberg Children’s Christmas Market! A nostalgic carousel, a child-sized steam train and visits from the Nuremberg Christkind are rounded out by fantastic hands-on booths for little ones. Here, kids can create their own tiny treats or artistic creations.
The history of the Lantern Procession of Nuremberg schoolchildren dates back to a time, when Nuremberg laid in ruins. 1948 was the first year when children with their lanterns made their way up to the castle. This tradition still lives today, sponsored by the NÜRNBERGER Versicherung and is very popular among all age groups.
The joyful sound of bells and the clatter of hooves tell you that the stagecoach is coming to the Nuremberg Christmas Market. As soon as the yellow wagon appears, visitors large and small excitedly turn to look! Many wave to the passengers, others pull out their cameras and phones. A tour with the historic stagecoach is surely a must
